Diet is the most critical element when it comes to healing rheumatoid arthritis. Recent studies have shown that around 1.5 million people in the US suffer from this disease called rheumatoid arthritis. Women are two to three times more likely to be affected with rheumatoid arthritis then as men.

Some of the major symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis are characterized by:

  • Pain in all joints
  • Morning stiffness
  • Fever
  • Weightloss
  • Fatigue

Initially, the symptoms start with pain in smaller joint like finger joints then it slowly spreads towards the other joints like hip joint and shoulder joint.

I have personally experienced all these symptoms for over a decade. Finally after trying various different healing strategies, I found that a solution lies in changing my food habits.

The following are the five food that you need to avoid:

  1. Meat/Fish/Chicken/Eggs.
Non-vegetarian foods are highly inflammatory foods. When these foods are consumed regularly, it slowly increases the toxicity inside the blood hampering the functioning of the digestive system. It has also been documented in the movie 'The Game Changers' how the athletes performance was
affected by consuming meat products. In the movie, it was concluded that vegan athletes perform better than athletes who consumed meat on a daily basis. It is one of the foods that make rheumatoid arthritis symptoms even worse.
  2. Dairy/Dairy Products.
According to the study conducted under the guidance of Mr T Colin Campabell in 65 countries of China by correlating the data derived from blood work of hundred people from each country, it was concluded that mortality rates were higher in the countries where people consume more meat and dairy products.
Since childhood our mind has been conditioned that Dairy is the only source for calcium. And we have been consuming Dairy which is loaded with chemicals and additive for so many years since childhood. If you are looking to heal your disease naturally then it is always better to stay away from dairy. We are always searching for, what is the best food that you need to eat when you are suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. But in reality, we should first lookout for options that you need to avoid in order to stay away from the immense pain associated with the Rheumatoid Arthritis disease.
  3. Sugar.
Animal studies has shown that increase consumption of sugar causes obesity, gut permeability, insulin resistance and low grade inflammation. In a long run it also affects liver causing certain form of liver injury.
Research shows that Consuming 50 grams of sugary drink can cause a spike in inflammatory markers like C reactive protein and uric acid within the span of an hour.
Today it has been around 3 years and I have not include any form of refined sugar in my diet. People suffering from rheumatoid arthritis must avoid any form of refined sugar because it leads to chronic inflammation. Today sugar is available in almost every processed food available in the market. So
when you decide to quit sugar, you also need to abstain from all other processed food like chips, soda, biscuits, sugar candies, etc.
  4. Oils/Transfat.
A controlled group study has shown that higher consumption of oil or trans fat is directly linked to an increase in inflammation marker like CRP. Trans fat is the worst form of fat that can be consumed by human beings today. And it is present in all the processed food that includes hydrogenated vegetable oil on their ingredient list french fries packed cakes cookies and pastries all contain trans fat as one of its ingredients.
  5. Caffeine.
According to the 2016 NCA National Coffee Drinking Trends around 180 million people in United States consume coffee. Nearly 90% of the world population consume caffeinated drink on a daily basis at least one time per day. The nonalcoholic beverages that include caffeine are tea and coffee.
The caffeine content in these beverages tend to leech out Calcium from the bone causing diseases like osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. It also causes dehydration. According to a study published by Arthritis Research and Therapy consumption was coffee was associated with the development of anti-cyclic citrullinated protein which is the subtype of rheumatoid arthritis. Hence is better to completely avoid regular consumption of caffeinated drinks
